feels like it’s never ever going to come
feels like it’s never ever going to come
feels like it’s never ever going to come
feels like it’s never gonna come until the day is done
and the blue sky fades to black
until the ink is on the page like actors on the stage
and the big man says hey “get back”

Party's Over
04:22
|
|||
Bella’s in the basement while her lady’s away
and her best thoughts emerge at the end of the day
when the world isn’t watching, there ain’t a sweet soul around
and if nobody hears it, does it still make a sound?
cuz it’s over, the party is over
and part of me wants it to last for so long
oh but it’s over, she knows that it’s over
and she’s got three minutes to relive it
once the singer starts the song
William’s in a cop car on a crime that didn’t pay
he’s already pleading the fifth, or so they say
angie’s on the corner, tears run across her face
she’s coming back down from the thrill of the chase
but it’s over, the party is over
and part of me wants it to last for so long
oh but it’s over, she knows that it’s over
and she’s got three minutes to relive it
once the singer starts the song
and the view, is not what I expected to see
the light bending through empty bottles
and this vision on the wall, it couldn’t be me
where can i trade in for healthier models
M is on a mission, sent to ruin my heart
and i love her so madly it rips me apart
the priest consents to marry in the autumn of the year
be sure to keep all of your schedules clear
because it’s over, the party is over
and part of me wants it to last for so long
oh but it’s over, I know that it’s over
and we’ve got three minutes to relive it
once the singer starts the song

little angie, sweet william
stand a chance of one in a million
on the sidewalk, or in the street
still i doubt they’ll admit defeat
going tick-tick-tock, the clock is running
running like the tears across a face
going drip-drip-drop, like there’s no tomorrow
little voices, I hearda lotta
M says to shut em out, maybe i oughta
where would i go, once i been saved
once i knew how that i should behave
going tick-tick-tock, the clock is running
running like some horses in a field
going clip-clip-clop, like there’s no tomorrow
isabella, and lady patrick
improvise on gordie howe’s hat-trick
first they blew up, and then they kissed
there had to be at least one assist
going tick-tick-tock, the clock is running
running like the leader in a race
getting to the top (of the world)
speaking freely and talking pointed
to a high priest, newly anointed
on his cellphone, out in the yard
i fail to see what could be so hard
going tick-tick-tock, the clock is running
running like the tears across a face
going drip-drip-drop, like there’s no tomorrow

she’s the giver of a life force
she’s the bringer of a bright light
she’s been working so hard all day all of the night
she doesn’t ask for too much back
another shot maybe one more crack
and what kind of soul-sucking spider would stand in the way of that
and it’s about (what’s it about now)
i’ll give you one hint if you treat me kind
here i am (i’m saying it now)
and it’s about time
c’mon people, places please
she’s gonna be here any minute now
i just want everything to be perfect ok
cuz true heroes don’t get paid
you won’t wind up on parade
they just walk to the door with the tiredest bones
and it’s about (what’s it about now)
i’ll give you one hint if you treat me kind
here i am (i’m saying it now)
and it’s about time

i’m everywhere at once and for all
down the line, we’re wasted
we cannot feel the passage of time
and I don’t ever want to go back
to where I was before now
before we fell in love with this cold heart attack
it’s out of this world, I see it so plain
i went to the top floor then up again
it’s out of this world, I see it so plain
and where would you fly, once you’ve had a taste of the life
you’d be off like a bird, you’d be out of this world
one hundred dollars left in the bank
and many miles to fill up
did you save a couple bucks for the tank
leaving yesterday’s old feeling behind
as we ride, to a new town
get us looking good and then throw our bodies down
it’s out of this world, I see it so plain
i went to the top floor then up again
it’s out of this world, I see it so plain
and where would you fly, once you’ve had a taste of the life
you’d be off like a bird, you’d be out of this world
fah fah fah fah, floating on your memory
until my mind goes empty and it’s dark
everything and more, that is what you meant to me
so you can be the hero on your mark
it’s out of this world, I see it so plain
i went to the top floor then up again
it’s out of this world, I see it so plain
and where would you fly, once you’ve had a taste of the life
you’d be off like a bird, you’d be out of this world

You Must Love Somebody
03:19
|
|||
flash your smile so tough
tell your story in the photograph
then hide your face as you break off from the pack
you must love somebody
and they don’t love you back
when your star came down a-shining
there was lightning falling from the sky
and you can cry all night but it still won’t change the fact
that you must love somebody
who does not love you back
they don’t love you in the morning
they don’t love you in the night
they don’t love you on those long days
when you ain’t got a friend in sight
and all you wanna do is crawl inside, someone’s arms
if the sea can change
maybe your luck is not set in stone
cuz i’d hate to think you’re doomed or something like that
doomed to love somebody
who does not love you back
you must love somebody
and they don’t love you back

Opposite Vultures
03:29
|
|||
and as the bells get to chiming, I’m back there somehow
i wonder what are we gonna do now
that the places we shared are just shards in a memory
that i think about
hiking through the forest every line a chorus all the passers by
flora and the fauna see the way i wanna be there til i die
to be under skies filled with opposite vultures
flying all over the place
ya know the smell of the earth here, is not like I’ve known
and lately all i can dream of is home
where the soil was stained by the souls of the people
who had come before
hiking through the forest every line a chorus all the passers by
flora and the fauna see the way i wanna be there til i die
to be under skies filled with opposite vultures
flying all over the place

Good Days and Bad
03:38
|
|||
good days and bad
i’m not sure what else i expected i would have
but that’s what i got
fast times or slow
ya never know until it happens
and by then you can let it go
i waited for some mystery
to reveal itself
good days and bad
that’s all i had
it’s time to get away from it all
when you’ve been twice rejected
but I don’t expect you’ll be sinking for long
High points and low
get on now go if that’s your feeling
otherwise you’re just asking for trouble (and i think you know)
i waited for some mystery
to reveal itself
good days and bad
that’s all I had
so stretch your mind out, now make it reach
run like a devil for your day on the beach
it’s coming to’ards us from out in space
the urge for going and to seek out that place
where you would shine like a two-dollar coin
good days and bad
i’m not sure what else i expected i would have
but that’s what i got
high points and low
ya never know until it happens
and by then you can let it go
i waited for some mystery
to reveal itself
but high points and low
fast times or slow
good days and bad
that’s all I had

Nevahland
05:19
|
|||
so today’s the day it had to come so soon
could have sworn the breeze felt like the month of june
candelabras, phantoms in operas waiting to sing
sweethearts beating, histories repeating everything
going oo-la-la-la, back in nevah-nevahland
it’s like the alreay told ya
back in nevah-nevahland
isabella flying at the speed of light
such a blast of color and it burns so bright
we got people waiting, cool kids debating nothing at all
pigeons lining up on a long board happy to fall
going oo-la-la-la, back in nevah-nevahland
it’s like the alreay told ya
back in nevah-nevahland
little Angie wants to be the queen of soul
spent the whole night dreaming bout that rock and roll
candelabras, phantoms in operas waiting to sing
sweethearts beating, histories repeating everything
going oo-na-na-na, back in nevah-nevahland
it’s like the alreay told ya
back in nevah-nevahland
